Guide for Authors

Introduction

TANWĪR: A Journal of Arts and Humanities is a peer-reviewed, scholarly, open-access biannual journal that seeks to publish research and academic articles in various areas of arts and humanities, including Literature, Cultural Studies, Applied Linguistics, Translation in addition to interdisciplinary studies in the field. The journal aims to be a leading forum for expert review and research articles. It publishes articles and reviews as well as Special Issues on particular subjects.

Advisory/Editorial Board

TANWĪR: A Journal of Arts and Humanities has an Advisory/Editorial Board of scholars from reputable universities all over the world and from Egypt with a vision to expand the journal and build upon its success.

The Requirements for an Academic Publication

The requirements for publications are high, and every researcher should be aware of this before submitting work for review.

  • The Editorial & Advisory Board reviews the content.
  • An academic publication is regarded as a contribution to the subject area of the researcher.
  • An article must be original and relevant.
  • It is recommended that the researcher would consider the possibility of cooperating with other disciplines.

Format

Use these general guidelines to format the paper:

  • Set the top, bottom, and side margins of your paper at 1 inch. Use double-spaced text throughout your paper.
  • Use a standard font, Arial, in a legible size (12).

Citation

  • MLA style is used for writing about literature and arts.
  • APA is the style used mainly in the social sciences, like psychology, anthropology, and sociology, as well as education and other fields.
  • Chicago style is accepted by all disciplines

Length of the Article

  • Recommended length of articles should be approximately within a range of (6,000-7,000 words), excluding references

Components of a Journal Article

An academic journal article usually contains the following elements:

  • Title

The title of the article should be in the middle and bold. It should be no more than ten words.

  • Author Details

After the title of the article, we write information about the author (name of the author or authors, affiliation, country, and e-mails)

  • Abstract (300 words)
  • Keywords (4-6 words)
  • Introduction
  • Literature review (optional)
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Reference list
  • Appendices
